Scope

This standard specifies the classification, order content, materials, technical requirements, inspection, testing, acceptance methods, packaging, marking, and quality certificates for smooth or galvanized steel wire ropes used in cranes with diameters ranging from 6 mm to 70 mm, as well as their selection, maintenance, installation, inspection, and scrapping. This standard applies to steel wire ropes used in bridge-type cranes and boom-type cranes as defined in GB/T 20776.
