Scope

This part of GB 19510 specifies the special requirements for ballasts used in high-pressure mercury lamps, low-pressure sodium lamps, high-pressure sodium lamps, and metal halide lamps. This part applies to ballasts operating on AC power at 50 Hz or 60 Hz and below 1000 V, and the rated power, dimensions, and characteristics of the discharge lamps used with them shall comply with the provisions of IEC 60188, IEC 60192, IEC 60662, and IEC 61167. This part applies to complete ballasts and their components, such as reactors, transformers, and capacitors. The special requirements for thermal protection ballasts are described in Appendix B.
