GB/T 33588.3-2017 Lightning protection system components(LPSC)—Part 3:Requirements for isolating spark gaps(ISG)
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 33588 specifies the requirements and tests for isolation discharge gaps (ISG) in lightning protection systems. ISG can be used for indirect equipotential connection between lightning protection systems and nearby metal facilities. Due to functional reasons, direct equipotential connection is not allowed in this area. Typical applications include connections to the following facilities: -- grounding systems of power facilities; -- grounding systems of telecommunications systems; -- auxiliary grounding electrodes of voltage-activated grounding fault circuit breakers; -- grounding electrodes for laboratory measurements; -- devices with cathodic protection and stray current systems; -- user entry poles of low-voltage overhead cables; -- insulated flanges or insulated joints at both ends of pipelines. This part does not include applications involving the generation of inrush currents.
