Scope

This document specifies the safety requirements and/or risk reduction measures for cutting, grinding, and finishing equipment used in casting cleaning, as well as usage information. It describes the corresponding verification methods. This document lists examples of major hazards, dangerous conditions, or dangerous events associated with such equipment when used for their intended purpose and under misuse conditions that can be reasonably anticipated by the manufacturer (see Appendix A). This document applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of cutting, grinding, and finishing equipment used in casting cleaning. Note: Casting cleaning cutting, grinding, and finishing equipment includes impact gating hammer, pouring gating separator, trimming machine, band saw cutting machine, disc saw cutting machine, grinding wheel cutting machine, hanging grinding wheel machine, grinding cleaning machine, roller cleaning machine, vibration cleaning machine, CNC cutting center, CNC grinding center, and automatic cleaning unit. This document does not apply to casting cleaning cutting, grinding, and finishing equipment manufactured before the implementation of this document.
