GB/T 16915.2-2024 Switches for household and similar fixed electrical installations—Part 2-1:Particular requirements for electronic control devices
Basic Information
Scope
The chapter in GB/T 16915.1-2024 is replaced by the following content.
This document specifies the technical requirements for electronic control devices, including electronic switches, residential and building electronic systems (HBES)/building automation and control systems (BACS) switches, and related electronic auxiliary devices, including classification, protection against electric shock, grounding measures, structural requirements, mechanical performance, and electrical performance.
This document applies to electronic switches and HBES/BACS switches used indoors or outdoors in fixed electrical installations for household and similar purposes. These switches are rated for a maximum AC voltage of 250V and a maximum current of 16A.
This document also applies to electronic auxiliary devices rated for a maximum AC voltage of 250V and a maximum DC voltage of 120V, such as sensors and buttons.
This document also applies to electronic remote control switches (RCS) and electronic delay switches (TDS). Specific requirements are given in Appendix FF.
Switches with only passive components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, inductors, positive temperature coefficient (PTC) and negative temperature coefficient (NTC) elements, pressure-sensitive resistors, printed circuit boards, and connectors) are not considered electronic control devices.
This document also applies to electronic switches and HBES/BACS switches used for operating lighting circuits, controlling lamp brightness (dimmers), controlling motor speeds (e.g., for exhaust fans), and other purposes (e.g., heating control).
