Scope
This standard specifies the basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and general requirements for marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of DC motors (hereinafter referred to as "motors") used on ships (including mobile and fixed offshore installations).
This standard applies to all types of marine DC motors (hereinafter referred to as "motors") and marine DC generators (hereinafter referred to as "generators") except for DC brushless motors.
