Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of restraint systems for child occupants in motor vehicles (hereinafter referred to as child restraint systems), the installation and fixing requirements in vehicles, the structure of restraint systems, and the performance requirements and test methods for restraint system assemblies and their components.
This standard applies to child restraint systems suitable for installation in motor vehicles with three wheels or more, but does not apply to child restraint systems installed in folding seats or side-facing seats.
