GB/T 32800.8-2023 Hand-held non-electric power tools—Safety requirements—Part 8:Sanders and polishers
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the safety requirements for hand-held non-electric power tools (hereinafter referred to as "polishers and grinders") used for polishing and grinding with items such as rotary, orbital, and reciprocating motion, equipped with sand-coated layers, various soft material products, and seamless drive belts.
Polishers and grinders can be driven by compressed air, hydraulic oil, or internal combustion engines, and are intended for use by a single operator with one or two hands, with or without a suspension device (e.g., a balancing device).
Note 1: At the time of publication of this document, there was no information available about polishers and grinders driven by internal combustion engines. Once such machines are confirmed to exist, this document will be revised to include them.
This document applies to the following products:
—— Belt polishers;
—— Sliding board polishers;
—— Polishers;
—— Dual-purpose polishers;
—— Rotary polishers;
—— Linear polishers.
Note 2: Examples of polishers and grinders are provided in Appendix B.
This document does not apply to special requirements or modifications of polishers and grinders for installation on clamping devices.
This document covers all noteworthy hazards, dangerous situations, or dangerous events when using the tools under the intended use and in misuse conditions that can be reasonably foreseen by the manufacturer, except for use in potentially explosive environments.
Note 3: EN 13463-1 provides requirements for the use of non-electric equipment in potentially explosive environments.
