Scope
This document specifies the general requirements for ultrasonic testing of seamless steel pipe ends, testing equipment, test specimens, testing methods, testing equipment debugging and verification, result evaluation, and testing reports. This document is applicable to the longitudinal, transverse, and layered defect ultrasonic testing of seamless steel pipe ends with an outer diameter of not less than 6 mm and a ratio of outer diameter to wall thickness of not less than 5. Note: The layered defect testing involved in this document is applicable to steel pipes with a wall thickness of not less than 5 mm.
