Scope

This standard specifies the classification, ordering content, requirements, testing, judgment and re-inspection, acceptance, packaging, marking, quality certificates, and safety maintenance of steel wire ropes used in electric shovels (hereinafter referred to as steel wire ropes). This standard applies to steel wire ropes used in electric shovel operations such as bucket lifting, shovel lifting, pushing and pulling, retracting, lifting buckets, opening and closing buckets, changing the working range, and setting the distance of the boom. This standard does not apply to sealed steel wire ropes used for setting the distance of the boom (tension ropes).
