Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements and measures that designers, manufacturers, suppliers, and users of shot blasting equipment should follow.
This standard applies to all types of shot blasting equipment (hereinafter referred to as equipment) used for surface treatment of workpieces by shot blasting, spray blasting, or a combination of both processes.
This standard also applies to all units and auxiliary equipment that constitute the components of shot blasting equipment.
