Scope

This standard specifies the structural types, technical requirements, materials, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage of steel shut-off valves and lift check valves with bolted valve covers. This standard applies to steel shut-off valves and lift check valves with a nominal pressure of PN16 to PN420, a nominal size of DN15 to DN400, and an operating temperature of -29°C to 538°C. These valves are designed for use in petroleum, petrochemical, and related industries, and feature bolted valve covers and end connections in the form of flanges or welding. This standard also applies to straight-through-type, angle-type, and Y-type steel shut-off valves, steel lift check valves, and steel shut-off check valves. Steel throttle valves may also be implemented in accordance with this standard.
