Scope
The chapter in GB 4706.1—2005 is replaced by the following content:
This standard applies to the safety requirements of household steam ovens with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V.
This standard applies to combination steam ovens. Specific requirements are given in Appendix AA.
This standard also applies to combination steam ovens that can operate independently in barbecue or convection mode. When operating in this mode, they are considered as ovens.
Note 101: Examples of appliances within the scope of this standard are shown in Figure 101.
The common hazards of various appliances covered by this standard are those that all people in residential and surrounding environments may encounter.
This standard generally does not consider:
——The use of appliances by unattended children, disabled persons (including those with physical, sensory or mental disabilities), and inexperienced and uninformed individuals;
——Children playing with appliances.
Note 102: The following situations need to be noted:
——For appliances intended for use in vehicles, ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary;
——In many countries, additional requirements are stipulated by national health, labor protection, water supply and other similar authorities.
Note 103: This standard does not apply to:
——Appliances for commercial use;
——Appliances for industrial use;
——Appliances for medical use;
——Appliances intended for outdoor use;
——Appliances intended for use in special locations, such as those with corrosive or explosive gases (dust, steam or flammable gases).
