Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and shelf life for mono- and di-stearic acid glycerides as food additives.
This standard applies to products obtained by reacting hydrogenated palm oil or stearic acid with glycerol to produce mono- and di-stearic acid glycerides and a small amount of tri-stearic acid glycerides, which are used as emulsifiers in the food industry.
