Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, inspection items and test methods, inspection rules, marking and packaging, and storage and transportation requirements for natural gas generator sets used in the petroleum industry (hereinafter referred to as "generator sets", including natural gas internal combustion generator sets used on offshore drilling and production platforms). This standard applies to generator sets composed of reciprocating internal combustion engines (hereinafter referred to as "engines") fueled by natural gas and diesel/natural gas, AC generators, control devices, and auxiliary equipment, with a power range of 3 kW to 4,500 kW and a rated frequency of 50 Hz. Generator sets fueled by other combustible gases or those with a frequency of 60 Hz may be implemented as a reference.
