Scope

This part of GB 25684 specifies the safety requirements for mechanical excavators and provides diagrams of mechanical excavators (see Appendix B).
This part is used in conjunction with GB 25684.1 (which specifies the general safety requirements for earthmoving machinery). The specific requirements of this part take precedence over the general requirements of GB 25684.1.
This part applies to mechanical excavators defined in GB/T 8498. If they are expected to be used in conjunction with other working devices or auxiliary devices such as drilling rigs, piling and extracting equipment, and mobile equipment (such as tracks, walking legs, floating docks, and ships) or fixed chassis, this part also applies to this type of mechanical excavators, chassis, and upper structures. However, this part does not specify the specific hazards associated with the aforementioned additional equipment or auxiliary devices.
This part specifies all major hazards, dangerous states, or dangerous events associated with the earthmoving machinery within its scope when used for the manufacturer's specified purposes and under foreseeable misuse conditions. It also stipulates technical measures to eliminate or reduce the risks caused by major hazards, dangerous states, or dangerous events during use, operation, and maintenance.
This part does not apply to machines manufactured before the implementation of this part.
