Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for materials, design, manufacturing, testing methods, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of manned low-pressure chambers.
This standard applies to single and multi-person low-pressure chambers in which the chamber medium is air, and the maximum air pressure height is not greater than 10,000 m (26.50 kPa). These chambers are used for medical research, treatment, high-altitude environmental testing of instruments and equipment, aviation training, and low-oxygen training and fitness purposes.
