Scope

This document specifies the general requirements for the excitation systems of medium and small synchronous motors, the conditions of use, the performance requirements of the excitation systems of synchronous generators, the performance requirements of the excitation systems of synchronous motors, the test rules, the completeness of the equipment, the marking, packaging, transportation and storage, as well as mass production and quality assurance. This document is applicable to the design and manufacture of 50 Hz and 60 Hz synchronous motor excitation systems in the following ranges: -- Hydroelectric generators with a power of less than 10,000 kW; -- Turbine generators with a power of less than 6,000 kW; -- Internal combustion engines with a power of 3,200 kW or less; -- Synchronous motors with a power of less than 10,000 kW.
