Scope
The technical requirements, tests, inspections, installations, operations, and calibration guidelines set forth in this standard apply to thermal gas mass flow meters used to measure various gases and gas mixtures, but they are not applicable to the use of thermal mass flow meters to measure the mass flow of liquids. This standard is not applicable to hot-wire anemometers and other thermal film anemometers used to measure point velocities.
