Scope

This document stipulates the basic requirements for fire and explosion prevention design in nuclear power plants, mainly including the general requirements for fire prevention design, the fire prevention design of the general layout, fire prevention and fire spread control, fire evacuation, automatic fire alarm systems, fire water supply and fire extinguishing systems, ventilation for fire prevention and smoke control, fire safety analysis, internal explosion-proof design, and fire prevention design requirements for key areas and equipment, etc.
This document is applicable to new onshore fixed thermal neutron reactor nuclear power plants in China. Other types of nuclear power plants and nuclear facilities can refer to this specification for design.
This document mainly targets the internal fire and explosion prevention design of nuclear safety-critical buildings (such as nuclear island buildings, pump rooms and corridors of important plant water systems, etc.). The fire prevention design of conventional island and auxiliary facilities buildings shall comply with the requirements of Chapters 4, 5 and 13 of this document (except for the requirements specifically specified for nuclear safety-critical buildings), and shall also comply with the requirements of other relevant design standards in China.
