Scope
This standard specifies the structural types, requirements, materials, quality control, and testing requirements for check valves (abbreviated as NRV) used in the oil and gas industry. This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and inspection of check valves, short sections, positioning joints, pressure relief joints, and all other components that may affect the performance or interchangeability of NRV equipment. It does not apply to the repair and inspection of NRV equipment after it leaves the factory or during its use.
