Scope

This standard specifies in detail the minimum requirements for centrifugal pumps used in the oil, heavy chemical, and natural gas industries (including reversible pumps used as hydraulic recovery turbines). This standard applies to cantilever pumps, end-supported pumps, and vertical suspension pumps (see Table 1). The requirements specified in Chapter 8 apply to specific pump types. All other provisions of this standard apply to all pump types. This standard provides illustrations of various pump types and lists the specifications of each pump type. This standard does not apply to non-sealed centrifugal pumps.
