GB/T 2099.31-2025 Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes—Part 31:Particular requirements for socket-outlets incorporating USB power supply
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements for plugs and sockets for household and similar use, including marking, protection against electric shock, structure, electrical performance, and mechanical performance. This document applies to fixed or mobile sockets used indoors or outdoors for household and similar purposes, intended for AC power only, with a rated voltage above 50 V but not exceeding 440 V, a rated current not exceeding 32 A, and with or without grounding contacts, equipped with USB power supply. This document provides safety and EMC requirements for sockets equipped with USB power supply. This document does not include USB technical parameters, performance, and dimensional requirements; these are specified in the relevant parts of IEC 62680. For fixed sockets equipped with non-screw terminals, the maximum rated current is limited to 16 A. This document does not include requirements for concealed installation boxes, but only for the exposed installation boxes necessary for testing the sockets. Note 1: General requirements for installation boxes are specified in GB/T 17466. This document also applies to plugs installed in cable assemblies, plugs installed in extension cord sockets (cable extension assemblies), and mobile sockets, as well as plugs and sockets that are components of appliances, unless otherwise specified in the relevant appliance standards. This document does not apply to: — Industrial plugs and sockets and couplers; — Appliance couplers; — Plugs and fixed or mobile sockets for extra-low voltage (ELV) applications. Note 2: ELV values are specified in GB/T 16895.21. — Fixed sockets combined with fuses, automatic switches, etc. Note 3: Sockets with indicators are allowed, provided that the indicators comply with relevant standards (if applicable). Plugs and sockets meeting the requirements of this document are suitable for use in environments with a normal temperature not exceeding +40 °C, bu
