Scope

This standard specifies the processing, storage, transportation, and sales requirements for meat products from pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, and other animals (hereinafter referred to as livestock and poultry meat) at all stages of the cold chain, as well as the operational requirements between these stages.
This standard applies to chilled and frozen livestock and poultry meat intended for human consumption.
This standard does not apply to meat products.
