Scope

This document specifies the special requirements for the structure and testing of electrical equipment used in explosive gas environments or explosive dust environments, protected by a positive pressure enclosure "p". It also stipulates the requirements for positive pressure enclosures that contain limited flammable substance releases. This document applies to electrical equipment protected by a positive pressure enclosure "p" intended for use in explosive gas environments or explosive dust environments. This document does not apply to: - Positive pressure enclosures that may release the following substances: - Air with an oxygen content exceeding normal levels; - Mixtures of oxygen and inert gases, where the oxygen proportion exceeds 21%. - Positive pressure rooms or analysis rooms, see GB/T 3836.17. - Positive pressure enclosures used in environments with explosives or fireworks. - Positive pressure enclosures used in environments with mixed gases/vapors and flammable dust. - Positive pressure enclosures used in environments with self-igniting substances such as explosives or propellants that contain their own oxidizers. - Positive pressure enclosures with internal sources of flammable dust release. Note: When the user is a manufacturer, it is generally the user's responsibility to ensure that all relevant requirements of this document apply to the manufacture and testing of the equipment. This document supplements and modifies the general requirements of GB/T 3836.1. When the requirements of this document conflict with those of GB/T 3836.1, the requirements of this document shall take precedence.
