Scope

This document specifies the requirements for the design, structure, assembly, testing, inspection, marking, documentation, and evaluation of explosion-proof equipment packages, which are the responsibility of the equipment package manufacturers.
The requirements of this document apply to equipment packages that comply with GB/T 3836 (all parts) and to individual equipment with independent explosion-proof certificates. These individual pieces of equipment are combined to form equipment packages. It also includes requirements beyond the scope of the explosion-proof certificates of the individual equipment that make up the equipment packages.
This document also includes the evaluation of additional requirements for explosion-proof equipment packages in hazardous areas, but does not include requirements for non-hazardous areas. It is assumed that, in addition to the requirements of this document, compliance with other electrical or mechanical requirements applicable to non-hazardous areas will be verified by the same or different institutions.
This document does not apply to:
——Equipment that complies with one or more GB/T 3836 explosion-proof type standards;
——Positive-pressure rooms "p" in accordance with GB/T 3836.17 and artificially ventilated protective analysis rooms in accordance with IEC TR 60079-16, as well as other specific explosion-proof equipment specified in other standards;
——Installation at the end user's site within the scope of GB/T 3836.15;
——Classification of hazardous areas;
——Inherent explosive environments and dust formed by explosives or self-igniting substances (for example, the manufacture and processing of explosives);
——Medical rooms;
——Electrical equipment in hazardous areas with flammable mist.
This document is only intended to provide verification for the initial supply of equipment packages.
