Scope

The chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following content: This document concerns the safety of milking machines used for milking farm animals (such as cows) in barns or open-air areas with a rated voltage of not more than 250 V for single-phase systems and not more than 480 V for other rated voltages. Note 101: Examples of milking machines include: -- Bucket-type milking machines; -- Direct-into-tank-type milking machines; -- Pipeline-type milking machines; -- Recording-ceremony milking machines; -- Independent gas and milk supply-type milking machines. Note 102: All types of milking machines covered by this document are described in detail in ISO 3918. Note 103: In cases where 480 V three-phase motors are required, the single-phase rated voltage may exceed the upper limit of 250 V. Note 104: This document applies to milking integration units provided by the same manufacturer to form a complete milking machine. This document can be used as a safety guideline for milking machines composed of milking integration units provided by different manufacturers. Note 105: Note the following situations: -- For milking machines intended for use in vehicles or ships, some additional requirements may be necessary. -- In many countries, additional requirements are specified by national health departments, departments responsible for labor protection, national water supply departments, and similar departments.
