Scope

The chapter of GB/T 4706.1—2024 is replaced by the following content:
This document specifies the safety requirements for commercial microwave ovens with a door. For single-phase appliances connected to a phase line and a neutral line, the rated voltage shall not exceed 250 V, and for other appliances, it shall not exceed 480 V.
This document applies to the safety of combination microwave ovens with a door, the requirements of which are contained in Appendix AA.
This document also applies to the safety of commercial microwave ovens without a door, in which food or beverages are heated by entering the oven cavity through a transport device, and the requirements of which are contained in Appendix BB.
For microwave ovens applicable to Appendix BB, the microwave load enters the oven cavity through a transport device; Appendix BB also applies to tunnel-type microwave ovens and several types of microwave vending machines.
This document also applies to microwave ovens intended for use on ships, the requirements of which are contained in Appendix EE.
