Scope

The chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following content: This document specifies the safety requirements for drinking water treatment devices for household and similar purposes. This document applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, and other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V for household and similar purposes. Appliances that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a danger to the public, such as drinking water treatment devices intended for use by non-professional personnel in stores, light industry, and farms, also fall within the scope of this part. The common hazards associated with the appliances covered by this document are those that all people in and around residential areas may encounter. However, in general, this document does not consider the following situations: -- People (including children) who cannot safely use the appliances without supervision or guidance due to physical, sensory, or mental disabilities; or -- Children playing with the appliances.
