Scope

The chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following content:
This document specifies the safety requirements for commercial electric forced convection ovens, steam cookers, and steam convection ovens that are not specifically designed for household use. For single-phase appliances connected to one phase and neutral lines, the rated voltage shall not exceed 250 V, and for other appliances, the rated voltage shall not exceed 480 V.
This document also applies to commercial electric forced convection ovens, steam cookers, and steam convection ovens used on ships. For such appliances, Appendix AA applies.
Note 101: These appliances are suitable for commercial food processing, such as restaurants, canteens, hospital kitchens, and commercial enterprises like bakeries and butcher shops.
Appliances that utilize other forms of energy are also within the scope of this document.
For practical purposes, this document addresses the common hazards posed by such appliances.
