Scope

The chapter of GB/T 4706.1—2024 is replaced by the following content.
This document specifies the safety requirements for electric drive devices for horizontal and vertical moving gates, doors, garage doors, and windows for household and similar use, and covers the hazards associated with the movement of driven components.
This document applies to electric drive devices for horizontal and vertical moving gates, doors, garage doors, and windows for household and similar use with a rated voltage of not more than 250 V for single-phase drive devices and a rated voltage of not more than 600 V for other drive devices.
Battery-powered drive devices and other DC-powered drive devices are within the scope of this document. Dual-power drive devices powered by a power supply or battery are all considered battery-powered drive devices when operating in battery-powered mode.
Drive devices that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a danger to the public, such as those intended for use by non-professional personnel in shops, offices, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, industries, and farms, are also included within the scope of this document.
The requirements for drive devices for doors used in emergency exits and exits are given in Appendix AA.
