Scope

The content of Chapter GB/T 4706.1—2024 is replaced by the following.
This document specifies the safety requirements for self-balancing personal transportation devices using alkaline or other non-acidic electrolyte battery packs.
This document applies to self-balancing personal transportation devices (hereinafter referred to as "devices") using alkaline or other non-acidic electrolyte battery packs.
This document also applies to devices that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a risk to the public, such as devices intended for use by non-professionals in stores, light industry, and farms.
In practical terms, the common hazards associated with various devices covered by this document are encountered by everyone in residential and surrounding environments. However, in general, this document does not consider the following situations.
——For the following groups (including children):
• Due to physical, sensory, or mental impairments; or
• Due to a lack of experience and knowledge;
resulting in their inability to safely use the devices without supervision or guidance.
——Children playing with the devices.
——Operational safety, such as speed limits, fall hazards, and rapid acceleration.
Note 101: Note the following facts:
——For devices intended for use in vehicles, ships, or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary;
——National regulatory authorities may impose additional requirements on the devices.
Note 102: This document does not apply to:
——Devices intended solely for industrial use;
——Devices intended for use in special environments, such as areas with corrosive or explosive gases (dust, vapors, or gas).
