Scope
The chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following content. This document specifies the safety requirements for battery chargers for household and similar use. This document applies to battery chargers for household and similar use with a rated output voltage not exceeding 250 V DC without ripple and a rated input voltage not exceeding 250 V AC. Battery chargers intended to charge batteries in appliances used in households but not within the scope of the GB/T 4706 series of standardization documents are also applicable to this document. The requirements for battery chargers used by children aged not less than 8 years without supervision are given in Appendix AA. Battery chargers not intended for general household use but still potentially posing a danger to the public, such as those intended for use in garages, stores, light industry departments, and farms, are within the scope of this document. This document addresses common hazards encountered by all persons in and around residential areas and exhibited by appliances. However, in general, this document does not consider the following situations: -- The following groups (including children): ● Have physical, sensory, or mental disabilities; or ● Lack the necessary experience and knowledge. This results in their inability to safely use appliances without supervision or guidance. -- Cases where children play with appliances.
